Damn I want X-Wing and Tie Fighter redone with just a new engine, they can keep same exact scripted missions with same exact gameplay, just add new graphics, new AI and coop. No stupid "checkpoints", no thanks.

Great Series! Given what todays CPUs and GPUs can crank out it would look great! They could do so much with that series but as of late I haven't been all that impressed by Lucas Games.

...and don't you hate Clancy game dialogue?

From Rainbow Six all the way to Hawx, pilots and soldiers sound like eleven-year-olds playing war in the forest.

They shout, yell and scream 'tango DOWN!' as if they're surprised by the fact.

Anyone who's ever served will tell you that radio chatter is, 99% of the time, professional and calm - it has to be or instructions become garbled and misheard.

Just goes to show how young the Clancy guys are pitching their 'games.'

HAWX fans Be careful don't hurt yourself! This game requires a little bit of thinking.. your brain is too weak for that game or any other type of sims so don't play it or even try it or you gonna become a retarded one.

i wish there was a happy middle ground here

something in between the mindlessness of arcade games and the insane difficulty level of real flight sims.

remember gunship, and thunderhawk? aces over europe, wings, red baron, stuff like that - i really enjoyed those sorts of games. nowdays it seems to either be an actual real plane or helicopter on a PC with dynamic campaigns and no real story, which is very impressive - but to me just isn't fun, or an arcade game with no concessions to realism at all.

I agree, I clocked up most of my flight sim hours playing Gunship 2000 and LHX, even though I did play Flight Simulator, Falcon and other more serious sims. There is little reason a sim cannot have arcade, mainstream and hardcore sim flight and combat models. A recent sub game Silent Hunter demonstrated this well.

I'd probably play flight sims if they had arcade modes.

I absolutely loved flying in Battlefield 1942, and I'd love to play a game that was a little bit more realistic but any time I've tried a combat flight sim its incredibly time consuming and SOOOOOOOOOOO slow.

I can't remember which one I tried a few months ago but it was a WW2 sim from 6-7 years ago and it took like 5-10 minutes of flying to get to the general area where the battle was going to take place. Like, 10 minutes of nothing. Just an engine sound and sky.

That kind of thing just doesn't do it for me, especially if I'm going to die instantly when the enemies show up.

I had Gunship 2000, and LHX. Loved both of them. But they fail in comparison to....are you ready...

Spectrum Holobyte's Tornado! 600mph 100ft off the ground through canyons.

I don't want another helicopter sim, until an Apache game comes along. Too bad the Army DC'ed the Comanche.

Well for those that don't know... Black Shark can be dumbed down to the point of being very arcade.

how dumbed down are we talking?

like playable with a mouse / keyboard or x360 controller / keyboard?

is there any sort of story about it? or is it just a set of randomly generated missions or something like that?

I play full realism so I'm not sure. But id say keyboard and mouse is probably doable Check this producers note.

Also can we get a moderator to merge this thread with the other DCS thread? Thanks
