Looks good.

Though I can't say it looks better than Crysis.

I really hope it doesn't come to PC looking the way it does in the pic above.

That looks like a Crysis tech demo from 2003 or something.

Jeez, same crap comments, different day. You know things are getting bad when you know exactly what is going to be said in a thread before clicking it or even seeing footage.

difficult to go by the video

but the dark scenes looked like UE3 engine, the island looked no different to CE2 island but worse looking at the screenie (havent looked at the HD vid yet)

but to me nothing beats CE2 still! and still looks great when used properly like in Crysis (shame it wasnt used to its potential in ther terrible Manhatten thingy game off steam)

+1, look's just like many of the Crysis mods running around. Granted, lighting can be a nice change, but it doesn't look like they did anything substantial.

Personally I find this dissapointing because this is Crytek's new project, meaning, when DX11 rolls around they aren't going to have a shiny new engine that will either A) run on DX11 making it look worthwhile, or B) run on DX10 rivaling anything on DX11 when the other games arrive. Also, Crysis is still the best looking game period, no one else is really pushing the envelope graphics wise, so if Crytek is stopping at a level not far from Cryengine 2, then how long before we see real advancement again? Maybe I'm being pessimistic, but that's how I see it.

This is great for Crytek financially and great for consoles, but just feels like a rip off for PC gaming.

meh obviously giving your game cutting edge graphics is a ridiculous detriment. I have not EVER seen so much negative feedback for a game after crysis came out. People absolutely tore it apart for not being able to run it maxed out and therefore many didn't buy it. So they've been there, done that, and learned their lesson. They now need to appeal to the mainstream gaming arena where they can reach the widest audience and actually get paid off for their investments.

Exactly... People refuse to run on low settings, it's a fact. If you release a game with a high option, people want to play it on high... they feel defeated or ripped off when they have to play on low settings. Same thing happened with Grand Theft Auto 4.

Personally I think it's really cool how Crysis was built for the future. I enjoyed the game on medium/low when it came out and now I enjoy it on high... someday on ultra with super sampling... but most people have this vile hatred for the game because of the same thing I find awesome about it.

Oh well.
