I was also thinking into XGL but since it is deprecated since beginning of last year
and not maintained any more, it is a dead end.

It is possible to run six 1680x1050 LCDs off one GPU using two TripleHead2Go boxes.

I guess the best solution would be if nvidia would apply SLI Mosaic for GeForce
GPUs, if technically possible: from what i understand, the adapter card for the
QPlex box is just a PCIe bridge and in the QPlex box there are just off-the shelf
Quadro cards. So i think there is no reason why SLI Mosaic shouldn't work
with Quadro cards in a PC and since the Quadro GPUs are pretty much identical,
with GeForce cards it should work with GeForce cards, too. But i fear nvidias
marketing wouldn't allow that :-)
