What problem are you having exactly. You can probably ignore those EDID validation warnings.

Is MPlayer simply playing clips too fast? That's likely an MPlayer issue. Does the same thing happen with "-vo xv" instead of "-vo vdpau"? (Remember to remove the -vc option when testing that). What about if you add "-demuxer lavf" to the command-line. Does this happen for all clips?

Mplayer can sometimes play clips too fast if there is something wrong with the audio output. Try using the null audio driver and test it like that.

Red face Re: mplayer with vdpau, problem with Vsync on tv

Thx for your answers.

The problem remains with -vo xv. let me say one more thing to my setup.
I got a Primary Monitor on DVI at 1920x1200 and a Phillips TV at 1920x1080 one the hdmi of the same card. (9400) I use clone mode.

Since the movie, no mather which one, is running on both screens I can tell that the problem only accours on the tv.
vdpau runs very snooth, I got neerly no cpu usage.
I tryed every possible settings on the tv, but it makes no diffrents at all.

I tryed playing the same movie und windows (witch is no option) and it runs snooth.
So this has to be a problem with my X settings,

Here are some setting from my xorg.conf
Section "Screen"

# Removed Option "metamodes" "nvidia-auto-select +0+0"

by the way, its not a problem of the audio, its just a shacking or flickering picture while sudden motions.
And Totem has the same effect
