Default geforce 9600gt and still no driver working

I've got an asus EN9600GT with 1024 MB DDR3 and i've never been able to get a decent opengl 3d rendering or working driver on linux (1st mandriva, 2nd ubuntu, 3rd FC10)... i've used all driver that supported the GF 9 series and never got the damn card to work! i've even changed the GFX card thinking that would be a malfunctioning card but wasn't the card neither the motherboard.

my PC setup is Asus P5N-T delux, asus EN9600GT (1024MB DDR3), 4 GB DDR2 800MHz, intel core 2 duo E8200 @ 2.66 GHz.

can someone have a similar config and that have the same gfx card with working 3d rendering and stuff?

thank you very much
