Have you tried to download the EDID from the display using the nvidia-settings utility, and specify that EDID in the xorg.conf file with the UseCustomEDID(something ) option for the nvidia driver?

Does it work with a shorter VGA cable (i.e. 1.8 meter)? I guess 10 Meter
is too long for the I2C interface that is used to acquire the EDID information
from the Display.

As slanbarn already suggested, you may try to aquire the EDID information
with a shorter cable, add that EDID to your xorg.conf and try with the longer
cable, again.

Here's a brief description:

Thanks for replies.

This thing I did, but without effect . I connect via classic cable and save EDID binary from nvidia-settings.
With shorter cable it works fine, till 3 meter long, longer not work anyway.

Plaese all sugests are welcome, thanks.

Hi there,

thanks JaXXon this option, as I wrote, I used but without effect.
I look how the driver detect my device and it is CRT-1 and I use in my xorg.conf CRT-0,
I am so stupid ...

I am so sorry for disturbing.

Thanks for your replies again

Great support.

at 10 meters you are right at the limit of 100kHz i2c transmission, _should_ work with a well built cable assuming the transceiver circuits are well designed, which is rarely the case as no one worries about 100kHz signal lines in a world of multi-Ghz interconnects . if you have an o-scope and soldering iron laying around you can probably fix the problem with a couple resistors
