What you're paying for with the GTX295 is the ability to have SLi on a non SLi motherboard, and Quad SLi.

As such, it's not overpriced.

Beyond that, $500 for the highest performing sinmgle slot solution has been the norm for YEARS.

I think GF2 Ultras were $500 at launch.

I'd say best bang for buck are a pair of GTX 260 216s in SLI. $360 after mail in rebates is not bad. better than a GTX 295 that's over $500 like a blow dryer set on high heat.
