Not sure if everyone is aware of this so I though I should share this. Finally able to manage my mass effect activations. If this had been in place from the start most of the issues would have been avoided.

About time. Though I think I lost one of my Crysis Warhead activations when I restored my C: Drive a while back to fix my windows update problems. The game is still installed on my games drive but it didn't show up on the EA's list of games with authorizations on my HD. I haven't run the game since I restored the C: Drive.

Cool.
Hopefully at some point they release a tool or patch that removes the activations entirely like Bioshock did (and like they promised to do when Red Alert 3 came out).

Just tried it on my Mass Effect because I noticed I had 2 authorizations used out of 5. Used the tools and got one back for this PC, but there's still one being used... somewhere. Is there any way to get it back or are we SoL?

Not for all games. The reason I am not buying X3:TC from Steam is that it has DRM despite it's steam installation. Same with Clear Sky. Steam is one form of protection, Tages is another for those games. That's just dumb...

Actually, there is. You still have to verify your serial when you install the game, and again when you install the DLC. The latest DLC "Pinnacle Station" still needs a verification as did Bring Down the Sky. Steam still uses their own version of DRM. It's just asn't restrictive. There's problems right now with the new DLC. It seems there's an issue with the serials and verification system. ROFL. Eight months of waiting for this and they can't even get this crap right. |
