Default [BUG REPORT] mplayer crashes with nvidia driver >180.35

I have some video files that play fine with 180.35 driver (using VDPAU) but not with higher version (I have tested with 180.37, 180.41, 185.13), If I try to play the file with those driver, then the system get very slow then the screen hangs, though the system still runs (I still can use my power button). If I close mplayer fast enough then I still can use the computer, but then i had graphic corruptions everywhere. (This mean buffer overflow?)

I have attached the bug reports, and this is the link for the first part of the video: http://clarious.googlepages.com/aa.mkv
Attached Files
File Type: log nvidia-bug-report.log (100.8 KB, 66 views)
File Type: txt VDPAU.txt (11.7 KB, 308 views)

The problem persists with the lastest stable driver version (180.44)

And could any moderators change my topic title to "[BUG REPORT] mplayer+VDPAU crashes with nvidia driver >180.35 "

I've repro'd the issue, and will look into a fix. Thanks for the complete bug report information, and test clip.

We have a fix for this; it;ll be included in a forthcoming driver release. I can't say yet exactly which one, but it should be fairly soon.
