Very positive review of a hardcore gaming website in Russia - Gameru , which has a large community of STALKER and Metro 2033, being even the official forum of website of Metro 2033. In this site collaborators and forumers usually make personal reviews and notes , but beyond the notes , the most interesting things are the opinions of the review .

Quote:

Therefore the announcement of Call of Pripyat attitude was obviously negative. On lists of innovation all together does not care, the main
topic of discussion - this is the orange range, the bare location and lack of grass on them. Undertime development also brings
thought of a pile of bugs, patches, and the second gigabayte paid beta test. Nobody until recently did not believe that the GSC will turn
reclaim the name, caked failure of Clear Sky (the failure does not in sales). It is in vain ...

Outcome quite unexpected. . Few people had hoped that the GSC will turn back the name and create Call of Pripyat really interesting game. ! But they got it! . New locations, brought to mind the gameplay, really tame and interesting quests (which I have kept silent so as not to spoil the experience), attention to detail - all this makes the game very addictive and interesting. The era of the original Stalker was over and we can safely say that the future STALKER II in good hands!
To contrast , review of Clear Sky in the same site - but attention ! , is a site with some personal liberty in the reviews

These translations usually are scary translations . And to me not is the best solution , I need my native lenguage , not english .

The price of the game is 12 - 18 dolars in Rusia and might be possible take a digital download - very cheap in euros . But better wait for a Western edition

Btw I have been playing it myself, having Russian as your first language is great

The game is very good and I haven't even run into any bugs yet. It is very atmospheric much more so then the older games. It also runs well on my rig (see sig however I have 6gb ram now, and I'm running Windows 7).

I was running in DX10 at 1680x1050 the quality setting was set to maximum and it was pretty smooth. I might get some screenshots later tonight depending on how much free time I actually have.

*SPOILER*

So far the best quest I had and I think was a horrible joke by the developers is when you are sent to get this guys loot out of a Zaporzhec (a Russian car) which turns out to be in some Snork tunnels. I went to the location and accidently fell all the way down right by the car, got the loot and thought this wasn't so bad. However it was pitch black and all I had was my light and I was trying to make it out of there with just a desert eagle and loads of snorks attacking me, it was quite awesome. Too bad the loot was completely worthless and I wanted to shoot the guy in the face.

*ENDSPOILER*
