Default 185.19 - HDMI hangs

Ubuntu 8.10
8400GS

I have problems with 185.19. My conf is with a 15" Samsung monitor @1024x768 (dvi>DFP-0) and a 32" Samsung TV @ 1360x768 (hdmi>DFP-1). With 177.82 drivers no problems so far but now I upgraded to 185.19 for vdpau support.
If my 32" tv is on since boot, there are no problems but if I change input from hdmi to TV or I switch off and then on again... my systems hangs with blinking keyboards leds and must reset.

Gone back to 177.82 at the moment

Try putting up a bug report, that's the best way the Nvidia guys can help.

I'm experiencing the exact same issue with the 185.19 driver (no problem with 177.x).

My system seems to be very similar too, using Ubuntu 8.10 and a Gainward GeForce 8400GS connected via HDMI to my TV.

I'm having exactly the same problem with the latest drivers on my 9600GT amongst other problems, I think my other problems might be to do with the card reporting that it is sending audio, as a result it effectively mutes my TV.

I've seen a few other people having issues with HDMI / DVI and nVidia cards outputting data that is making the TV think the card is sending audio, I wonder if the two are interlinked ?
