Why do I hate multiplayer gaming?

I dont know why but I am just averse to multiplayer. Even in games I am doing well, I am always looking to see when I can leave an ongoing session or the the time runs out. I generally mute out players conversations. I hate MMOs with a passion, I have thrown disks of WoW and LOTRO in the trash after my free month ran out. Nowadays I just ignore any game that is an MMO or multiplayer focussed even if I enjoy the genre.

Well first off I think you're the only one that can answer that question. Second why would you ask for an opinion on a forum?

I don't really enjoy it.

I like games for the "feeling like I'm in another world" aspect... the immersion and stories and graphics and other stuff. Multiplayer feels more like playing football with your friends, which I was never really into... don't like competition.

I do like co-op games though, like Left 4 Dead... L4D feels immersive and such despite being online, because its you and some buddies escaping the zombie horde.

I used to be play many MP games, not anymore. I preffer more casual approach, plus story in the game is my number one concern.

Quite recently i have been leaving the multiplayer games and playing a lot of single player games, mostly due to folding my CoD4 team....

Bioshock, STALKER with 2009 complete mod, Zenoclash, Lost Planet, Assasins creed, mass effect, HL2 CM9.5 and *ahem* Crysis but dont tell nanosuitgay/soetdjuret that.

I like to play both single player and multiplayer...i love multiplayer simply for the competitiveness...if you dont like competition there is no point to multiplayer.

IMO, the single player experience tends to be a lot better when the developers decided not to add Multiplayer. When both Multiplayer and Singleplayer are in the game, it always seems like one of them seems to suffer.

So true, and I wish they would sell them separately. They could even make more money if they were worth $30 each. I play online with good people daily, so I enjoy that as much as the game sometimes.
