Lightbulb SEGA Licenses NVIDIA Physics Technologies

Good to see more support for PhysX
Quote:
NVIDIA announced that Sega has licensed both its PhysX and APEX technologies to serve as the development platform for all Sega studios. NVIDIA PhysX and APEX technologies form the most pervasive development platform for physics acceleration, and make authoring high definition, scalable PhysX content intuitive and artist-friendly.

A lot of games use Physx (PC and console). It's only now Nvidia bought it, that we take notice because it now has Nvidia attached to the news report.

I just had a random thought...

SEGA should make gaming computers that are advertised as consoles\multimedia devices. Everyone still recognizes their name as a solid console maker, so if they marketed it right they could probably do it. They'd already have thousands of games available from day one.

SEGA needs to learn how cancel development of games that are stinkers instead of letting them continue and get released.

But they own CA and they do mostly good games, although ETW was a bugfest. Which was most likely due to SEGA needing money and forcing a release, although it would have needed 6 months more development.

I'm also gonna keep an eye on Bayonetta as I liked DMC4.

But Bayonetta isn't made by Sega... it's made by Platinum Games... Sega is just the publisher.

I'm still gonna keep an eye on it, I liked DMC4.

Edit: They do MadWorld too for SEGA. It looks interesting, but I dunno if my brain is gonna stand the highcontrast white/black graphics style.

Madworld was "ok" it wasn't worth the purchase due to being really short and repetive.

Ok good to know, maybe wait until its cheap then.

Regarding SEGA, they are in deep financial problems too. It doesn't help if they don't come out with any good games. ETW did and do sell really well despite the many problems (word of mouth didn't get around fast enough I guess). So maybe they got a slight respite from that one.
