Default Ghost Recon 4 announced

Ubisoft's released sales data for its fourth fiscal quarter, revealing that long-missing Splinter Cell Conviction will finally be released this Christmas.

Ubsisoft also confirmed that a brand new Ghost Recon game, called just "Ghost Recon 4" will be released in "2009-2010", just as CVG revealed earlier this year.

"In 2008-09, we... continued to invest heavily in Ubisoft's future potential, hiring some 1,300 talents for our studios with a view to driving the Company's expansion, further strengthening our franchises and preparing for the next generation of handheld as well as home consoles," the company said in a statement.

"The results of these efforts will be seen as early as this Christmas with one of the industry's most ambitious games line-ups which will include Assassin's Creed 2, James Cameron's Avatar, Splinter Cell Conviction, Rabbids Go Home and Red Steel 2."

Both Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon are expected to be unveiled at E3 in June.

I doubt we'll get a PC-specific release this time, so let's hope the game itself is tactical.

We probably won't. GRIN is already busy with two other titles and they aren't a huge studio. We are likely to see a port.

I enjoyed the last one so I'm looking forward to this one. The last one was a good port IMO so here's to hoping this one is also.

Have they even stated for sure there will be a PC version?

GRAW2 for PC was good, wish they'd improve on it and give us more but as others stated, sounds like we'll get a console port at best if anything at all.

Ubi does a PC version of pretty much ever game they make, so I wouldn't worry too much, especially since it's a typical PC franchise and genre.

I still LOVE the Online mode of GRAW2. The netcode is f*cking amazing, great hitboxes, realistic shots, penetration, the delay when going in iron sights adds to the tension, the sliding is hilarious, no jump jerks as you can't jump , i'm glad that when you are not using iron sights you are not as accurate as in other games, the classes are also great, the maps are fantastic with plenty of places to hide/observe/kill.

Every night for the past 3-4 years there are 100 gamers playing. Yeah it didn't take off as some thought but it still has three-four full servers every night/day... which is what counts to me.

All i need is the same Online mode of GRAW2 with better graphics, better physics, ground deformation, better LOD (as this is the biggest problem of the game engine of GRAW2) and destructible environments. Basically a "face-lift" and it will be one of the best Online FPS (at least for me )

PS: As others have said though, i'm pretty sure that this time we'll get a port of the X360 version. Which is sad to say the least if it happens

People still play online for GRAW 2 PC? I loved the multiplayer demo, but never got around to buying the game for some reason. If people still play online, I will buy it asap.

It doesn't matter to me. I loved the mp demo. GRAW 2 was under-rated for what it was. It deserved more attention, but I blame Ubisoft for their giving PC gamers the shaft since R6 Lockdown was released, the trust isn't there anymore.

It will probably have some crappy cover system to take you right out of the feel of the game. Here's hoping it plays at least something like the first 2.
