I noticed that too, LordJuanlo, less disk trashing on boot up and exiting games. It's one of things I really hated about Vista over XP. Even with Superfetch on/off in Vista, I'd get the thrashing with 4GB.

Is this really a problem? All I did was run pbsetup (from the site) and mine worked perfectly.

Have other people tried that?

I thought the thin strip on the taskbar (the one that lets you peek through to the desktop when you hover over it) was the equivalent of show desktop?

Do you mean the minimize everything button? If so that is on the far right of the taskbar. It's that little strip to the right of the clock.

Everything was working well until I tried to install Mirror's Edge from the retail DVD. It would get to about 60-75% completion then just hang. This was using both of my DVD drives, regardless of compatibility mode. Everything works fine in Vista.

I'm also not entirely crazy for how Windows 7 handles gadgets. I don't like how they just seem to "float" on my desktop space without any sort of "anchor" as it were.

Hmm, I installed Mirrors Edge from DVD just recently without issue. Only issue I have come across with Windows 7 was getting Neverwinter Nights 2 to work (it doesn't detect the GPU normally) and I found the work around for it.

Do you have an SATA DVD drive? Mine are PATA.
