Here's hoping it retains the open plan map style of the first games where every enemy and npc is in the map and patrolling right at the start of the game and you can pick and choose the route that you take.
Hopefully nothing like a modern splinter cell where it is totally linear, you move through one section to the next section. You can't go round the back for example. And everything is scripted.

Also... people need to stop comparing it to Splinter Cell anyway... Splinter Cell games have never had a story half as good as the stories for the Thief series.

Yeah, they should make it in the WW2 era. Much more popular and enjoyed by the masses.

Yeah, they've tried all settings and medieval was by far the best...
Oh wait, we have no idea how cool this could be because we never tried it. Seriously people, get over the nostalgia fear, this could be awesome. A high-tec thief scaling skyscrapers, cutting through glass, bypassing security, meeting with a fence... sounds like awesome potential to me.

You know, the ambient sounds in the thief games were key to the overall "feeling" while playing. I'm also against a modern day thief. I think it should be Garrett on a new adventure, say 5 years after the events of Thief III
