Same here ... Mandriva 2009.1 KDE 4.2.2, compositing crashes X. If compositing is enabled it crashes on KDE startup, if I start compositing after KDE4 is started, it crashes immediatly as I hit the "apply" button.
Card is 8600GT. |

Yeah, the same here. I had to disable desktop effects (Enabled=false on kwinrc) so I could start kde.
