Duke Nukem will never go away. He's too busy kicking asses so there'll be companies that want to buy Duke Nukem franchise (unless 3D Realms' pulling our legs about recent shut down).

Idiots at 3DRealms?! You know they are responsible for developing or publishing some of the greatest games? Max Payne, Shadow Warrior, Death Rally, Raptor and without 3DRealms to publish Wolfenstein, id wouldn't have gotten off the ground...

I can't believe you call yourself a PC gamer then claim this is great news... Go play with your Wii. ::

A small anecdote. The new Ghostbusters game is developed by Terminal Reality who got their first game Terminal Velocity published by 3D Realms in 1995.

This is what I believe will happen:

Everyone will think Duke and 3D Realms are dead. It will be out of everyone's mind, then BOOM, they'll release it using the UT3 engine with EXTRA VIVID and Bloom and Duke's head will be shaped like a sideways football and everyone's eyes will bleed.

Or maybe it really is dead.

Makes it look like it was very far away from release. Concept art and models like that is stuff other companies release when it's very early in development.

Also one of blogs were taken offline (why...?) so maybe the game is still alive and in work with fewer people while others got laid off. Man, nothing official from 3D Realms or so... guess we have to wait a bit longer.
