Default Re: Defense Grid: The Awakening - $5 on Steam until May 13 - 75% off!

I just wanted to say that I've put over 14 hours into this game in less than 2 weeks, I'm on the last level of the campaign, and its been a blast!

Its so addicting!

I'm a perfectionist when it comes to games like this, so I don't let a single "core" get stolen when I play. If one gets stolen (taken off the map) on wave 24 of 25, I'm going to restart and improve my strategy. I replayed some of the harder levels 5+ times just to finish them without losing any cores.

I highly recommend grabbing this if you like strategy games at all. Yeah, its "just" a tower defense game but the levels are incredibly well designed and varied, so it stays interesting for a very long time.

For $5 this was a steal. I would have bought it for the full $19.99 price if I'd have know that I would get this much enjoyment out of it. Its also stable, the interface is great, and the voice-over and back story are surprisingly decent for a game like this. The graphics are smooth and clean, and the sound effects are easy to identify and get the job done. The campaign is a good length and there are a lot of other challenges and things to play with when you're done.

Hidden Path Entertainment has earned itself a place in my "indy game developer" bookmarks . I'm going to keep an eye open for more games by these guys.

They just released the borderlands DLC for this game, and fixed it with a patch already, this game is WAYYYY Fun!

I've beat it already, and am started on the DLC stuff. I look forward to multiplayer and map editor content!

Default Re: Defense Grid: The Awakening - $5 on Steam until May 13 - 75% off!

I bought this on Thursday with the borderlands saga included for $10. Was definitely worth it I just finished the awakening saga last night and the last few stages where awesome. It's so satisfying channeling the aliens where you want them to go. Making them weave in and out and around taking longer and walking past the same guns 4 times on their trip.

Then there's setting up the temporals and upgrading the guns used most. I loved the last level with the multiple bridges that you had to seperate. Pretty challenging I had one core left for the last 5 waves. Very tense but very fun.

I bought Supreme commander 2 on Sat but haven't even installed it because of this. Go figure, lol.
