Anything that negatively affects performance is something I really dont want. Enhance the experience with the same framerate then I'm fine with it.

It all comes down to NVIDIA making new technologies and new inventions, like Physx(I know agiea) 3D stereo (I know it's not original) my point is that, NVIDIA tries to get new stuff in the market. I like that NVIDIA is 'forcing' something new into the market, to make it more interessting. Indeed there are no good titles with physx support (not that I think) but the possibilities are there. Eventually Directx 11 will take over and NVIDIA would have gained lots of experience optimizing for physics / AI calculations. |

It has some cool effects in some games. It's another visual OPTION. It will get better over time. Some games will definitely use it to their advantage. Why is there so much whining about it?

PhysX will be cool, one day. In a few years it could be popular.
If you were deciding on an ATI card vs Nvidia, I wouldn't let PhysX alone push you over to Nvidia. It seems right now only UT3 games and Mirrors Edge really use it. I think Blizzard's new games are going to use Havok (Starcraft 2). |

PhysX, when implemented, has some cool effects. I'm playing Mirror's Edge right now. Nice physics on the plastic drapes and blanket scaffolds on the sides of buildings. Very small performance drop, hardly noticeable.
Is it enough to base a purchase on right now, though? In my opinion, no. It doesn't really add a whole hell of a lot to games right now.

I am not impressed with physx. It sounded good on paper, but after playing GRAW 2's Ageia Island map, I didn't see anything in that map that Far Cry 2 couldn't do.
