Default windows media player in W7

How do i configure WMP to start up maximised when i open it? No matter what i do i can never get it to work this way unlike in previous versions of windows. I cant find an option setting anywhere to set this. Did microsoft completely remove it in Windows 7?

shift right click on the shortcut, and select properties.
Then in "Run:" you can choose maximised like always.

I think that would only work if you actually open it with the shortcut, not opening media

Well, when i open wmplayer.exe, maximise it then close it. It reopens as a fully maximised screen the next time i opened it. Then when i open a media file it actually opened up maximised the way i want it to. But the next time i opened it again it wasnt maximised!

Perhaps microsoft has yet to fix/add this in W7? Hopefully the final build would be more true to its predecessors.

Right click the media playing and disable resize to file. That should stop it resizing when you open a new file.
