Hmm sounds good, Although i wonder how a controller cards performance would compare to a motherboard with dedicated SATA 3.0 sockets! ... And im thinking what other new technology these "next gen" motherboards will hold?

The ocz vertex 2's look nice but I would just raid some velociraptors for now if you have money for that kind of thing.
A PCI-E SATA 3.0 controller card performance compared to onboard would depend on the quality of the part. ![]() I wouldn't wait for SATA 6 Gbit/s hardware and buy on release since prices in this sector tend to plummet more rapidly than others. I'm waiting for SATA 6 Gbit/s, minimum 500gb, £159. Maybe in a year?

That should be more incentive to buy one before they're discontinued.
The X58 chipset is the main thing that makes the i7 worth buying over the i5 (or any other platform really). If there aren't going to be any affordable CPUs for the X58 platform in the future, you better get one while you still can.
