Default XV jerky with 180.51

Video freezes every ten seconds or so for about a second with nvidia drivers 180.51 or 185.18.08 and compiz enabled. I should mention that I usually use twinview but the problem persists even with only one monitor enabled. It seems to work fine with compiz disabled, and the gl output of mplayer works without the pauses as well.
