Hi all,
I really want to get a GTX 260 and am wondering if my current PSU would be powerful enough to run it.My PSU is the coolermaster igreen 600w-I also have a quad core processor (q8200)and 500gb HDD.Will this run it or am I needing to get a different PSU?Thanks to all that reply. |

I am also wondering what is the bare minimum required to run a gtx 260 or 275 card. I just got a new psu earlier this year because it was an unbelievable deal but it is only 500 watts.

A quality PSU should handle the GTX 260 fine. As long as it's not some questionable peace of junk that was rated for peak output in a freezer. Never put hardware you care about on cheap dirty power.
http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/vid..._12.html#sect0 IMO a Coolermaster igreen 600w should be perfectly fine for the 260. The draw for an i7 system @ 3.2GHz with a GTX 275 installed is listed below- http://techreport.com/articles.x/16681/11 Those numbers are not card consumption only.
