I've got a strange problem in Battlefield 2142.
No matter what game settings, graphical settings, audio settings, motherboard settings, dual core settings, bios settings, reformatting, etc... (trust me I've tried everything) it ALWAYS does this. No matter what. I start up BF2142 (single or multiplayer, doesn't matter), and WITHOUT MOVING (WASD keys) and just looking around with the mouse, the screen skips. whats even wierder is it only seems to do it when i look side to side.. (everything seems fine when turning up/down). The framerate registers as good. If I don't touch the mouse and just move around with WASD keys it's smooth as butter! But then I move the mouse and it's very jerky.. Yes I did try a different mouse, still does it. Plus I have a good mouse, the G5. I scoured the net and found a few posts about it but none of them got answered! I have a good system too, so i don't know what to do. Here are my specs. Windows XP Pro (32 bit) Gigabyte GA-MS55-S4 mobo AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ XFX GeForce 8800 GTX Creative X-FI Fatility Gamer sound card 2 gigs Ram (i forget but i thnk it's corsair) Maxtor 160 GB SATA hard drive Anyone? This is killing me.. ps - I just played the Bioshock demo and that runs great! |

I have exactly the same problem with both BF2 & BF2142. I get constant 100fps, so it's not a performance problem. It must be a problem with the games mouse control. If you run and pan around, it's smooth. It's only jerky when you stop and pan around with the mouse, like some frames are being skipped. I've spent ages looking for a solution, but I've yet to find one and I've tried everything. Tried reinstalling game on three different operating systems, using a different mouse and even turning off mouse acceleration with a registry patch, but the problem remains. Anybody know a solution?
