Hello,
I am currently running FreeBSD 7.2 32bit on a Dell Latitude E6500 (4GB RAM, NVS 160M) on Xorg 1.6.1. I can run the nv driver fine (so long as GLX support is disabled), however when I use the nvidia driver (180.60 from ports) and I try and run Gnome or any other window manager the system hard locks almost instantly (no errors in logs on a reboot). I have moved down to 2GB of RAM but the issue still persists, uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers from ports (ACPI enabled/disabled, Linux support enabled / disabled, etc...). Has anyone else run into this issue? Any fixes? Thanks! |

Nevermind, switching to the beta drivers fixed the issue. Still no idea why the stable drivers did not work.
