Not for me, but Beagle is getting crashes, seems to be in Build/Buy mode also. It just pops back to desktop in an instant, no errors.
Seems the game has a few issues, crashes, Sims 3 Launcher not installing content, error code 12 and 13 on saving which can lead to save corruption. Happens on both PC and Mac. Patch should on it's way. One Mac patch has been released so far. |

The game is pretty cool, it's definitely much better than Sims 2. But I think in some way it's buggy like it doesn't apply when it's suppose to? Idk how to give an example. One time, the drywall actually covers the door.
BTW no crashes here.

I had a bug when my Sim was at home eating dinner. The maid was there finishing up. I didn't have enough money so she took my table a chairs. My poor sim was suck on an invisible chair he couldn't get out of. I had to quit without saving. :

Sims 3 runs fine on my computer, once I updated the GeForce drivers. With the older drivers, (probably from back when Clear Sky launched), it crashed to desktop when the 3D engine was initialized.
Som far it seems like a slightly better Sims 2. Not the quantum leap that was between Sims 1 and 2, but still a nice improvement.. And the Plumbob USB drive is really cool... ![]()

@Crainger - You said you experienced bugs, crashes, etc. on both PC AND mac. I was wondering if you had a mac and went through the problems yourself or read about them? I have a macbook and was wondering a) will it run well and b) what kind of mac you had, if you did have one.

I don't have a Mac, on The Sims 3 forums the same crashes and save bug are appearing on both PC and Mac, which pretty much proves it's a game problem and can be patched. Not something that can be blamed on unstable systems.
For Mac you need at least Leopard, with an Intel C2D 2Gb Ram, around 10Gb HDD space free and an ATI X1600, nvidia 7300GT or an Intel GMA X3100. The engine is pretty much The Sims 2, but designed to make use of newer OSes and hardware, so it runs smoother on the same hardware. |
