Default X won't start in Fedora 11 with latest nvidia drivers.

Hi !

I've just installed Fedora 11 to replace my fed10.
I own a Asus 8800 GTS
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation G80 [GeForce 8800 GTS] (rev a2)

After having installed the latest nvidia drivers with : yum install nvidia-drivers-newest

Jun 13 20:51:42 Installed: kmod-nvidia-180.51-1.fc11.8.i586
Jun 13 20:51:47 Installed: kmod-nvidia-2.6.29.4-167.fc11.i586-180.51-1.fc11.8.i586
Jun 13 20:51:49 Installed: xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-180.51-1.fc11.i586
Jun 13 20:51:50 Installed: xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-libs-180.51-1.fc11.i586

X doesn't start anymore. During boot, nvidia module is started normally but after loading smartd, the screen starts blinking every time X tries to start but finally fails.

If i use Free drivers, i've no problem ... except 3D acceleration

Here is what i have in /var/log/messages :

I don't know if i have to post this on Redhat bugzilla ...

Do you have any solutions ?

It's the new open source nvidia driver ( it stops the nvidia.ko from loading ).

For the record, the packages available from rpmfusion-nonfree-updates-testing for F-11, blacklist nouveau by default.
They are meant to be moved to updates-stable soon.
