So my stuttering problems were due to the mouse. With the gamepad i don't get stuttering when there are on screen the other Ghostbusters (with the mouse the stuttering made the game unplayable for me. Lag, 10fps and major stuttering. Simply unplayable). I get though framerate drops for unknown reasons. So a patch is essential for those that want to play it with the keyboard+mouse.

Here is an example. I was getting 62fps in this screen:

Moving a little further and the framerate drops to 27.

There is nothing going on to stress the CPU so no, it's not a CPU limitation. So i guess a new set of drivers is needed (or a patch. Tried so far 185.85, 186.18 and 190.15. All have the same framerate drops).

PS: Forgot to enable from the options the FRAPS fps numbers.

PS2: And for those that didn't see it, i quote walterman about the tridx8tl.dll that i saw in the "settings.ini". Its presence doesn't mean that the game is running in DX8. It was my mistake as i didn't know that it was a leftover value

Yes, there is definitely some sort of gameplay smoothness issue using mouse/key. I found the game aiming unplayable with my mouse. When I switched to my 360 gamepad, this game plays smooth and predictably as glass.

I'm having no issues here with my G15 + MX510. Weird.

Yup, I think you're right, this seems to be the issue. There is not 1 to 1 movement like proper shooters.

So I finally found some time to try the game out on my Vista64 partition and I have to say its MUCH better, seriously day/night difference, game runs great now, I can run it with 16AF and 4AA at 1080p without it ever dropping under 30fps nor I have those strange slowdowns or freezes that I experienced in XP and all this with the same audio and video driver (185.85). Vista ftw!

It seems to be a tiny bit smoother with the X360 pad but not a big difference to KB+M, however just like others said mouse movement has a minor but somewhat annoying smoothing or acceleration effect, its a bit weird and I will need to adjust a few mouse settings to give it the snappy and fast precision that I like.

For real but yea its the first time EVER (for me) that a game runs much worse in XP. No idea if its because of SP3, or the fact that I don't have the latest .NET (only 1.1 I think) installed in XP but I'm glad that it runs properly in Vista.

How do you beat the kitchen golem in the hotel level? I assume you can't trap it, but I can't figure out how to rangle it.
