the best part about the game is definitely the nostalgia factor. the character models look vaguely like the people they're supposed to represent and the dialogue is done by the actors from the two movies. if you liked the movies at all you get some novelty out of being a Ghostbuster....but beyond the novelty/nostalgia the game doesn't offer much. the mechanic of trapping ghosts is particularly weak.

but if you want to see a really bad Ghostbusters game....try the NES version. or just watch The Angry Video Game Nerd review
The console version does not have the hi-res textures that the PC version has, so they're not comparable. I don't know how anyone couldn't think this game looks incredible as many items in the game (like the car) are photo-realistic. The car is about the best looking thing I've ever seen in a game; it's like they pulled it straight out of a photograph.

Other than the graphics, I disagree with you about how good the game is. It offers unique gameplay and the ability to upgrade your weapons and items is a nice feature. In addition, the physics are spectacular as you can interact with practically everything and just destroy an entire hotel room if you want to. Plates, tablecloths, chandeliers, tables, plants, walls, floor, lights, ceiling.. everything takes damage.

The "mirror room" was a great visual treat. I am really sick of games that have mirrors that do not reflect light at all, so you can be standing in front of the mirror and not even see yourself.

I knew there was something fishy going on. Just renamed the exe file to "crysis64.exe" and i got 10-15fps boost. There are some minor framerate drops (i'm sure everyone noticed them, this must be a game engine issue) but overall now the game is good for me. Most of the times i'm at 50-60fps

This game is some of the most amazing fan service I have ever seen. Every time there is any dialogue I cream my pants... seriously.

LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Unless you game on a 52 inch hdtv or any hdtv at all that is native 1080p and have sli and want to run 1080p. Then just use 182.50 like i did. Seeing how every driver since the first 185's has resize hdtv bug in SLI configuration. If this doesnt get fixed in the next driver release im tempted to go postal.

I am not sure why, but this game runs pretty badly on my system, and I am talking about inconsistent frame rates which make it unplayable. Like for the most part the game runs above 40 fps and smooth but then some parts where the frame rate just dips to like 20-25 and it doesn't really make sense at all.

Yeah, that and the crappy mouse control is ruining this game for me as well

I played the game nonstop through the first 3 levels, but it got kind of stale pretty quickly for some reason... I am amazed I wrote that, because I was so in love at first. I am sure I will finish it one of these days.

VRAM, possibly. Try cutting the AA or texture detail down and see if it helps.
