You really do need to overclock that CPU. At 1920X1200 maxed with 4XAA I get 40+FPS outside.

I just cannot get into this game. I have tried 4 or 5 times to sit down and play past the hotel level and I cannot do it. The mouse control absolutely SUCKS in this game.

It really does, I switched to my Xbox controller and it is infinitely better.

Turning off particle effects gives me +20fps... similar to Borderlands and dynamic shadows. I hate these small graphical effects that halve your freaking fps.

Yeah, I did notice that your game performance almost directly affects how smooth the mouse is in this game. Before I upgraded my vid cards whenever I used the proton cannon it felt like my mouse was floating. Now that I have upgraded it is much better but still sucks. Might have to go the 360 controller route like you did.

It's not too bad at all with the pad because the game is not really about accuracy... the beams hit a wide area and wrangling the ghosts is more fun with a stick. I rarely play games with the pad but this one works well with it.

Maybe I should try it with the gamepad... I've played some missions with keyboard and mouse and it feels horrible, I haven't finished the game because I hate the controls.

Anti gamepad squad should be arriving in a min. Their mouse worked fine, gamepads are for console kiddies lolz.

Once you plug in a gamepad and get the framerate stable this is actually a great version of the game, much better than my experience on 360. That version had a rough framerate and the extra resolution does a lot for the visuals. They also cut the horrible Ghostbusters theme loading screens and put in a simple symbol.

Good good.

Yeah, I really enjoyed this on my PC with 360 controller. Ran fine in SLI with 2x or 4x AA using nHancer to force UT3 compatibility. Only slowdown was the very first menu with all the clouds, not sure what the deal with that was, but once I pushed A it cleared up.

Only one part of the game was really frustrating. You'll know it when you get to it. Otherwise, though, it was excellent.

I got to the end of the library on 360... the "other world" was kind of annoying if that's what you mean.

There was a part with these cherubs flying around that was very frustrating. I figured that would stand out, but maybe it didn't cause you the same grief as me.

I don't remember... I remember the game getting progressively more annoying, which is why I never finished it. Not sure if PC will make the difference there, we shall see. I am up to said Library already, so... here's hoping.
