I haven't played a Total War game since the demo of Shogun (the first one). I'll give the demo of this a try though.

It definitely looks good.

I don't know if it'll be my kind of game though.

I am going to have to pick this one up I played the demo ages ago but thought that 30 was a bit too much for it at 50% off thats much better price

The game was also released way to early, with lots of bugs and gameplay problems. So getting it at this time with the upcoming patch is good from that point of view.

i bought the game 2+ months ago, played it twice. Just didn't have enough time to really sit down and learn all the game mechanics.
