I definately wouldn't buy it for multi... this is a single-player game, through and through.

Very COD-like gameplay and thats not my cup of tea. Im a little disappointed so far but the side missions are nice and the graphics great.

Total time played 6 hours...not a bad game. Not my type exactly, but great graphics put me through it. Story was good also.

Just played the demo.

Doesn't seem bad. The shooting\action in this one feels a lot sloppier and less exciting than the first one... and from what I've read they've almost completely done away with all of the non-shooting parts which I felt added a lot of depth to CoJ.

So from what I can tell, they messed with the near-perfect shooting aspect of the first one and made the game 100% shooting. Which is disappointing... but I'll probably pick it up eventually once the price has come down a bit.

It runs nice though. It was buttery smooth at 1600x1200 with all settings maxed. The graphics are good but the overdone blur makes the game look a lot worse than it should.

I agree. I like both games but there are aspects of the first one I liked better. A small thing, the horse can't walk anymore in the 2nd one. It's all running now and I liked sometimes just poking along (made me fell like I was out on the range). One of the things that I really missed on the 2nd one also is the way the bow worked. It was so much better in the first one (for me anyway). It was my favorite weapon in the first one and I didn't even like to use it in the 2nd one.

All that said, both are still keepers for me. I still enjoy playing either one when I want to go western for awhile and have a little fun.

Heh, just gave the demo a second play through and I still generally feel that the gun-play is inferior in this one, but its definitely not bad.

Also, upping the resolution to 2048x1536 and setting post processing to simple made the game look sharper and still run smooth. I wish I could keep the heat-wave effect without all that DOF blurring though.

I like both, but you are correct. First CoJ was near perfect, second CoJ this has good atmosphere, but they took dozen steps back.

Agree. I've just never been a blur guy. Never could see why people liked the effect. I want the cleanest, clearest picture on my screen possible. It doesn't add to the realism to me, it detracts from the atmosphere. I'd like it to be an option so one could have the choice to use it or not. That way everyone could get what they want. But hey, that's just me.
