I am new to linux. And I love what I see.But I am having a problem getting linux to take advantage of my nvidia tnt2 video card.I have read all the other posts about installing it but.How do you compile the nvidia kernel. So it will install .Because it will not install until you compile the kernel. And once you compile it where do you put it for linux to recognize it.
Help much appreciated. |

you don't actually neet to compile your kernel, just the drivers, and they compile quite easily, you need to make sure you have a few things, the kernel source among others I can't remember, but you can read all about them here
ftp://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Li...363/README.txt download the driver here http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=li..._ia32_1.0-4363 read the README.txt closely and you'll have no troubles installing the driver, actually using it is another story, but until you get it installed who can say.... If you have problems post your kernel version and distribution. -Travis |
