What is it about RA3 you guys disliked? I played the beta and it felt like all the recent C&C games. I planned to get the retail version in a few weeks, as I will have some spare time on my hands soon.

As a fan of old school C&C who thought C&C3 was awesome as well, I can tell you the only thing about RA3 I didn't like was the emphasis on co-op, with an AI helper with you at all times. That annoyed me.

Other than that it was a fun C&C game with some great gameplay... the story is over-the-top delicousness, moreso than normal C&C, which Red Alert always was.

Online all the time like an MMO... must be online to play... now that is some DRM right there.

It's a good thing though, in my opinion. Might make PC sales much higher than they would be otherwise... or it could backfire because people are unwilling to have an online requirement.

Oh wait, WoW has like 20 billion subscribers... nevermind... this is a good move.

I just want them to re-do the original C&C and give it a face lift. Leave all the units the same, no new units, same missions, same terrain and maps, etc.. I just want them to re-do it with the updated game engine.

And hopefully new AI.

I've been playing a bit of Red Alert (the first one) lately and its incredible how bad the AI is compared to newer strategy games. Half of the game doesn't even function. They rarely build any air craft in skirmish and they never build any naval units.

Its still fun to tinker with, but I find it impossible to take it too seriously because the units and enemies are so dumb.
