Default DELL S2409W LCD Monitor Question

We watch Netflix internet movies in the bedroom on my wifes PC which has a DELL 19" monitor running at 1280x1024. Of course most of the movies are wide screen so they look pretty small across the room. My question is if I buy a DELL 24" monitor that uses 1920x1080 what kind of performance whould I get using the same PC watching the Netflix movies? Would the frame rate be slow or would the system keep up with it as well as it does using the 19" 1280x1024. BTW... does anyone know what resolution the Netflix internet movies are sent in? Is there a better solution to this problem?

COMPUTER: DELL Dimension P4 2.5 GHz 512MB RAM
GRAPHICS CARD: EVGA 6200 256MB ( AGP CARD )

I know... a pathetic PC

Thanks for any light you can shed on this.
