once you disable a few things its playable. Hopefully the developers incorporate this into the game. I cant even play at the default FOV it makes me sick to my stomach within minutes. Thats more than just a bad port when it's making people physically ill to play.

Geez this guy deserves a medal for this...he has fixed this game more than the freaking developer has. Unbelievable.

UPDATE #7 32/09/2011: Version 1.6 is now available! I’ve made quite a few changes under the hood to make the program more powerful and user-friendly. Here’s a changelist for the curious:
- Tweaks have been split up and categorised. The result is a cleaner interface and an easier time finding the tweaks you want
- Alternate settings folder support. You can now switch between My Documents and your game folder, if you’re finding that the tweaks aren’t working
- Added the following tweaks: Disable event logging, Disable in-game voice and Enable simple shadows
- Small reminder when Video.scr is read-only or writeable and the ability to easily switch between these settings
- The program should now prompt the user for administrative privileges
- Renamed the keystroke repetition feature to make its usefulness more obvious
- Corrected a typo with the field of view settings
- Added a Close menu option along with Exit program
- Various checks and balances for missing files and directories
- Added a passive check for the micro-stutter fix so it only limits keyboard repetition while Dead Island is running.
- Fixed a potential memory leak in the file extraction rountine

This will be one if those times when the dev gets busted for using the publics patch/crack. Either that or maybe this guy can get a job

Sickens me that in less than a week a few people in the mod community have enhanced and repaired this game to nearly how the game should of been made for PC to begin with.

Developers and/or publishers really are mostly ass hats.

And MAJOR props to the brilliant people that figured out and made these mods!!!

Shameful porting, it's quiet common.

I really enjoy battling Thugs, and I am able to get 5000xp per Thug at level 25. I went from level 19 to level 31 in less than 3 hours.

This is a game that with a better developer with bigger budget would have been totally awesome its a shame really all thoose smaller devs make the better game ideas but in the end are put down on budget reasons etc..

It doesn't make a difference though. The bad guys just level up with you. I would much rather it had a system like Fallout's or STALKER. You get stronger, unlock skills etc and tougher enemies are encountered as levels progress.

This game just levels the enemies up with you across the entire game world. You get better weapons/mods etc, but in the end the battles play out much the same.

yea, I dont think thats it... the problems with this game, FOV, draw distance, etc make me think that this developer is in the console state of mind. A true PC developer would know you don't leave the PC FOV at 60. I dont think a bigger budget would've helped.. it took the PC community to mod it into the game it should've been. You can't expect a console developer to do a PC developers' job.
