Default Getting Back Into Oblivion - What Mods?

Hey guys. Going to be getting back into Oblivion, haven't played it since release. I was hoping some fellow oblivion-nuts will help me get set up with the right mods. I'm already planning to get Oscuro's overhaul, but was wondering what visual overhaul mods I should get.

I was looking at this one: http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.co...Detail&id=5345

from that mod I would remove all of the leveling specific stuff, and replace it with Oscuro's.

However, I was curious if this is the best compilation of oblivion visual mods. I'm pretty new to the scene, and trying to get Morrowind setup was a pain in the ass. I'd like a somewhat easier process.

So if anyone has any advice, chime in!

qarl's texture pack 3 makes the game look a lot better... id recommend minimum 2gb of ram and a 512mb geforce 8800+ video card for it though

Immersive Interface and BTmod are essential for UI optimization... gets rid of the large menus designed around console display, and the large interface during gameplay.

There is also a mod for making sure you get the highest level of leveled quest reward loot, so you're not stuck with a crappy version of Umbra because of when you decided to get the sword... not sure of the name of that one.

Honestly other than that I don't use any mods... I consider the game design and look to be an artistic presentation... altering it to me would be like reediting a movie. That's me though.

Wait for another week or two until this guy finishes his project:

I read through that thread, and thanks for the suggestion, I appreciate it. It honestly might be a bit too much for me on the first real playthrough. I'm looking for more of a core Morrowind experience. But thanks.

And thanks for everyone else posting up suggestions. That UI mod looks absolutely great.

I really hated what they did with the game. Morrowind, beyond its atrocious number of bugs was a great, charming game. Oblivion felt like a Michael Bay game. OOO and Francesco's look to really help the game return to its roots.

edit: I actually looked through that mod at rage3d again, and I may use it, just take out some of the esp's. I don't want the extra monsters and other content.

Anyone have the original Oblivion installed & then try to install the "Game of the Year Edition" to install the 2 expansion packs? I just don't want to overwrite any game progress from the original. Should I just save my "Save" folder somewhere else just in case?

The GotY edition is the same disc as the normal one, then a second disc with the two expansions on it... just use the second one. It won't mess anything up...

Hey if anyone tries this please post your opinions looks interesting...

Although I read some of the posts and seems like some people were experienceing a lot of crashes... I also get stuttering I saw a separate mod for stuttering would be good to know if that and the anti-stuttering mod are compatible...

Why? I thought it was ok. A little different, cool Armour to forge.

I liked it, the land was different from the original world.
