Default Hard lockups under SMP with 3123 and 4363

Hello,

I've tried both drivers version with kernel 2.4.20 and 2.4.21 using AGP and NvAGP and I always get the same, after heavy playing quake3 sometimes sooner sometimes later when I exit back to X the system gets really hard lockup no Magic SysRq, no Net, no nothing. Sometimes I can exit from quake3 but I always get the same result after a random number of tryings. And it always hangs up when leaving it.

I'm running TigerMP with a GeForce4 Ti4400 and dual AMD 1600MP. Any idea?

Regards,

Default similar problem...

i've got similar problem with my SMP intel OR840 and GeForce4 Ti4200 (RedHat 9 with all needed updates, nvdriver 1.0-4363).
after reboot in quake3 (quake3.x86 & quake3-smp.x86) i see in timedemo (demo four.dm_67) 155-165FPS... but, soon smp version of quake3 hang without any errors, when i try to start demo and in non-smp version i see ONLY 75-77FPS in same demo

when i ssh to this comp from another and run top -d1, i see some strange things - quake3.x86 work (after reeboot) on CPU0, but in short time quake proccess migrating to second CPU1 and i see bad performance in demo. with smp version of quake3 i see same in top -d1... any ideas?

p.s. sorry for bad english

Default

Uhmmm, I'm running quake3 non-smp version, and I'm getting about 150 fps in four.dem with maximum detail at 1600x1200 with vertex ligthning and about 90fps with lightmap. I think my GeForce4 is fast enough, but I want it rock solid ... anyway I'm thinking of migrating to ATI ... just to check if their drivers do any better ... although I'm not sure about that either.
