I thought Ocarina of Time was the best game ever... when I was 14. The Zelda games, and Nintendo games altogether really, don't hold up as well years later, when you compare them to what was going on on PC at the time.

Twilight Princess was terrible.

Yep. Most I ever came close to "mastering" LOL! was Crash Bandicoot. Awesome games

I fumbled through Halo2 with my daughter, and Doom 3. That's when I gave up.

Some folks just are not built to handle those things.

It really just takes a lot of time, then you get used to it. Saying you could never do it is just defeatist. I remember when Halo came out and I started playing it I was like "What is this crap???"... eventually though, it got much better, and now I can play with dual analogs about as well as with a mouse.

Well, I may get to test this. With so many games ported from consoles these days with limited control schemes, I've thought hard about grabbing a controller for my pc. Matter of fact, I may do just that for RE4.

Others pretty much answered the question but, yes, it was the PC version with a 360 controller. I played it with a number of mods that went a long way to update the visuals.

I used to say the same thing about controllers as I bought my 360 (my first console since a Nintendo as a teenager) back in 2006. By now it's become as second nature to me as a mouse/keyboard combo. Nowadays, I even prefer playing some PC games on my HTPC with a controller on the couch.

I'm not saying that you should go out and buy one if you don't like them, but if you become a big fan of RE5 then it might worth the effort.

I played Resi4 with all the visual mods with the hacked KB+M controls and the controls were okay, not horrible. I still enjoyed the game and the visual mods made a huge difference to it.

Just a matter of taste really. I only bought a Gamecube last year, and hadn't played a Zelda game since Link to the Past back in the day, so I don't think I'm particularly biased in that regard. There's just something I find incredibly charming about these games.

While Twilight Princess is a bit lacking in that regard, the Wind Waker (which I played last summer) was flat out the prettiest and most endearing game I have ever played. The music, emotive characters and everything somehow just combined into something that I found absolutely amazing. Bright pretty colors made a nice change from the stark bloody realism of most games.

It was like playing with a kitten.
