I don't have benchmarks to prove it - but after patching the 2.4.21 (stock) kernel with NVidia's new agpgart patch - my system (at least window redrawing and dragging) is a LOT slower.
I just rebuilt w/o the patch.
Anyone else experiencing this?
vanilla 2.4.21 (with a 3com patch for the 3com nic on the board)
AOpen GeForce4 440MX
I'm not using NVidia's graphics driver - I'm not allowed to (build/test machine means tainted kernels are no good)
I actually want to run this patch so I can swap for a video card that has a high quality OSS (non kernel tainting) driver - but it seems to make things worse

is it the patch?
I have the patch in my kernel, but the module isn't running. 2d performance on my system is shocking compared to what it was on my kt7a, flipping desktops is particularly bad.
Will removing the patch fix it?
