Default DVI/HDMI via DisplayPort for GeForce 9300 / nForce 730i

Hi,

I have an Asus P5N7A-VM board with GeForce 9300 graphics. Unfortunately you can't use the DVI and HDMI socket for dual-view.
Is there maybe a possibility to get a DVI/HDMI signal out of the DisplayPort socket and use a DP->DVI adapter? Maybe an option you can put in the xorg.conf?

Thanks and regards,
Moritz

I'm really wondering if this is a hardware thing? I have seen many laptops that can output both signals (HDMI and DisplayPort) via the DisplayPort socket.

Would be great if someone can confirm that this can not be modified by software and need to be setup in hardware already!

Regards,
Moritz
