Default Anyway to block PNG images in Firefox?

Or maybe alert / give me the option to download? I don't c the difference between jpeg/png and with AUS having usage limiters downloading 4mb images without even a warning really sucks. i know to most it snothing but in aus every mb is really important when ure usage is only 25GB for the month.

i just went into the batman thread in gaming and it chewed up a good chunk of my bandwidth i didnt even notice the png images since i opened a bunch of threads

Only 25GB?! How about you ditch the cable and got for ADSL where you can get over 100gb per month for less. What's the point of speed if you burn through the downloads so quickly on a forum?

As for the original question... I Googled block .png. I found this thread. ::

How the hell do you get by with only 25Gb a month? Sometimes I use that much bandwidth in one day(steam, demos, updates, trailers etc.). I probably use more than that on my 3G connection.

crainger, cable is the only option, adsl is too far to make good speed, and i am too used to my 30mbit down :P

i can squeeze about 50gb/avg a month, last few hours telstra gives u free download so i manage to get around 20gb~

but most games/podcast stuff is free content since its hosted on my isp site. this includes steam downloads if the data is on the server (which u can check)

What about an adblock filter that simply contains:

*.png

Will that work?

EDIT: Yep, that works. I just tried it. Just go download adblock Plus:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865

Once its all set up, right click the ABP icon, go to preferences, click add filter and put in *.png . It will block any address ending in .png, so no .png images should load. Problem solved.

All you down-unders-ers should move where there aren't limits.

It would be my luck I'd more there and they'd introduce limits. ::
Besides we only have limits on somethings, there is a lot of content that is unlimited. Steam for example, Gamershell, you know the important things.

I do ok on my 70Gb, I'm only a few hundred metres from my exchange and get close to 24mbit. ::

I also hear rumors the US wants limits to reduce piracy, so keep that in mind.

Ya, they've been saying this for years. They're going to do everything to "stop" piracy including having a secret service agent in your bedroom to watch you at all times on the computer. Wouldn't surprise me in the least.
