Good games for LAN party

I've been doing some LAN gaming with some of my friends a lot recently. What are some good games that we should check out? So far, we've looked at these ones.

FPS

Counter-Strike: Source

RTS

Rise of Legends
Command & Conquer 3
Red Alert 3

RPG

Titan Quest + expansion

I would like to mention that none of us like Supreme Commander. Some games I was thinking are The Witcher for RPG and maybe SWAT 4 or Unreal Tournament III for FPS.

Depends what kind of computer they have but some of the best imo are

Quake 3
Counter Strike: Source
TF2
Cod4
HL2: DM
Any of the unreal games.

I have the most fun with those at LAN parties. I believe you can get the quake3 demo for free and it will run a LAN game.

The slowest of the computers is an Athlon 64 3800+ with a GeForce 8800GT G92 video card. The other computers we have are an Athlon FX-55 with 8800GT G92, and two computers with Core 2 Duo's and Radeon HD4890 video cards.

Good games for LAN Parties are (well at least for ME)

- Counter Strike Source
- Call Of Duty 4
- Diablo 2 + Expansion (still)
- Warcraft 3 + The Frozen Throne
- Starcraft + Broodwar
- Rainbow Six Vegas 2
- Half-Life 2 Deathmatch
- Team Fortress 2
- Descent Freespace 2 (best with openFS2 Project)
- World In Conflict
- Command and Conquer Games
- Race Driver GRID
- Tom Clancy's HAWX (Coop and versus are just fun!)
- Unreal Tournament 2004 (I dont really like UT3 even if its still a great game in total)

The ones that get played practically every party when we get together are:

CS:S
TF2
UT 2k4
Savage (needs quite a few players to be really fun though)

A lot of times there are smaller games of Q3 and Starcraft going as well.

But seriously, cs is a lot of fun as is quake 3 and UT. We even played some transport tycoon at the last lan party I went to and had a blast(helps if you're a bit drunk as I'm right now

Im not sure how many guys you usually game with, but here goes...

Company of Heroes- the best RTS out there (imo)

Pirates Vikings & Knights II (www.pvkii.com) mod for HL2, my brother is actually one of the lead devs, but thats not why I love it... I love it because its AWESOME and underappreciated.

Battlegrounds 2 mod for HL2 (http://www.bgmod.com/) when everyone gets bored of playing serious games, its a LOT of fun, because its so clunky due to the fact that its a revolutionary war game. Charging your buddy that cant stop reloading his musket and stabbing him with your bayonet never gets old.

Grand Theft Auto 4. The enjoyment of stealing a buddys car then running him over = win. Also, getting all your friends but 1 to swarm 1 guy with knives or firetrucks... fun fun fun!

Red Faction 1. I still have a blast with my LAN buddies blowing holes in walls and chasing eachother.

Swat 4. You mentioned this, but if youre in the mood to take it seriously for a bit, the Sheriff Special Forces mod (SSF) is great and improves the coop immensely by making the AI be a bit less predictable.

Crysis Wars. Strength punch fights!

Arma 2 (dont buy it without trying) can be tons of fun, especially the Evolution game mode maps that you can download. Taking out a city full of troops and tanks gets everyone all worked up.

Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory!!

I'm surprised that hasn't been mentioned yet, it's free, runs great, and is a hella-competitive game!
