Default GRIN closing its doors?

In the wake of a round of layoffs earlier this year, it's now being reported that the company have closed their studios in Barcelona and Gothenburg, while employees at GRIN HQ in Stockholm, Sweden, are also being "told not to show up for work".
Well it's not surprising really, put out trash like Terminator Salvation, Bionic Commando and Wanted and well thats what happens. Yeah Wanted wasn't as bad as the other titles but it wasn't a great game either, definetly not worth the price of admission.

Wanted would have been loved if it came out at $20... $50 ($60 on console) for a 4 hour move tie-in is retarded though, no matter the quality.

Anyway, I agree this is deserved, at least on some level. I don't like seeing people lose their company, jobs and dreams, but their games were always kind of crap. Not only were they dissapointing in general, but they lacked polish and care, despite being delayed often.

Bionic Commando doesn't even have PC control prompts for God's sake... it asks you to press "B" when you have no "B" to press. And so much for getting a patch for that now, I suppose.

I read their console games run in like 520p resolution too, with no AA, because their engine sucks.

So just an all around good riddance... I hope Spark is next, if they aren't gone already.

Sucks... Rearmed was great, and I actually enjoyed Wanted quite a bit... yes it was short and had its issues, but I played through it a few times and enjoyed it everytime.

Didn't play the new Bionic Commando or that garbage Terminator game based on a garbage Terminator movie because I had heard it was so freaking buggy. But still... they gave us a great remake in Rearmed and I really liked that they released it for only 10 dollars.

You can't really fault them for Wanted and Terminator, I mean those are movie games and their budget (and in Terminator's case, the release schedule) was probably pretty restrictive. GRIN was a company with talent, they did good work with the Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter games on PC yet they never really got a chance to work on anything similarly fleshed out.

I never quite liked what GRIN has made after BC:R. I can't really say much about Bionic Commando since I haven't played it but multiplayer demo on X360. Best wishes for people at GRIN on finding jobs shortly after if GRIN is indeed closing its doors.

Despite my rant, I will say I feel bad for the guy behind Bionic Commando, because I remember his enthusiasm for the franchise in interviews. I remember he said he fought hard to convince Capcom a revival could work... then it sold 27,000 copies in a month.

That guy probably feels pretty bad right now.

I don't. Clearly shows he has no design talent if he ****ed up so bad.

The only games that GRIN made that were good were the Ghost Recon games.

Feel sorry for the guys who are out of work when they didn't have any control in the matte (the grunts behind the development, not the designers and producers).

I just mean I feel bad that he fought really hard to get the opportunity to make his dream game, and then he ended up not having any talent with which to do so. Sucks to be him.

Bionic Commando Rearmed was awesome.

I never tried the regular Bionic Commando, but the reviews were not that bad.

Also saw what you will about Bo, (owner of Grin) but he really seems like a cool guy, he always states his mind and seems like an honest guy in interviews.
