Default Realtek NICs don't like either other

Ok, small windows 7 network issue.

3 computers involved

First computer (A) has dual realtek NICs on x58 board
Second computer (B) has PCI-E Intel NIC, and disabled realtek NIC onboard
Third computer (C) has realtek NIC on ATI 780G board

all nics are gigabit plugged into to the same gigabit switch

short descriptions

from A to B full speed

from B to A full speed

from B to C full speed

from C to B full speed

from C to A about 100-800kbps

from A to C about 100-800kbps

both C and A computers have realtek nics.

any ideals?

Are you running W7 drivers or those straight from Realtek's website? MS is notorious for flaky Realtek drivers. I've been a victim several times.

If you're running RT drivers... well... I don't know. W7 might have KILLED my integrated Realtek NIC recently. I had to throw in an Intel card.

as far as drivers are concered i tried drivers from OS, tried vista/7 drivers 6.xx and win7 drivers 7.xx.

and no change.

Then I found one post on the web about this issue that points out to a vista driver from June 2008, that driver works better, but doesn't competly fixes the issue.

I would try to remove the auto negociation and force A, B, C to Full/1 Gbps speed. Since you are using a gigabit switch, make sure to force all ports to Full/1 Gbps.

Also, i would try with or without jumbo frames support from both A and C nics.

If it still doesnt work i would connect A to C, bypassing the switch.

Looks like new drivers were released just a couple of days ago if you want to give them a shot.

still doing some test, but it seems this recently released driver might have fixed the issue.

still need a bit more testing, so far so good.

Glad to hear, hope they work out. On a similar note these fixed an event log error I was getting saying that my NIC had lost connection when I would stress it out.
