Default Re: Will Modern Warfare 2 be the first $60 PC game?

I definitely won't ever buy any PC game at $60. I loved the Demo of CoD4 and I still haven't bought it yet cause even at $27 that I think impulse was offering for it on sale, I thought that was overpriced given it's age, the fact that I am only interested in the short single player part and that MW2 was coming out.

In singapore, games used to cost around $49.90 in the past. As the years go by they've jumped up to $54.90, $59.90 and more recently, $69.90 for standard editions of PC games. So im not very surprised by anymore inflation, but its not a good thing anyway.

Far far far from the first $60 PC game...

I paid over $70 for Under a Killing Moon back when it was new, and probably only because it was a 4 CD game...

Anyways, the fact that so many PC gamers are up in arms about paying the same prices as console gamers is what's absurd. PC gamers are lucky they're not paying 3 times as much to make up for sales.

Maybe we should all be upset that we aren't paying $30 for a game like MW2, but that's not limited to PC gamers.

Apparently you haven't been a PC gamer for very long...

Yeah, I agree. You will be paying $50 or $60 for a couple of years, especially if it's a really good game.

I'm debating on whether I want this one or not. Hopefully Steam will have it on sale at some point this year, maybe even for preorder.

I hope Steam gives MW1 away with MW2.

Said part is there will be many that will pay the $60.00 and that's what these companies see.

I wasn't old enough to buy my own games until 1998 or so, so if things were more expensive before then I guess I wouldn't know. I know I paid $70 or more for some SNES games liike Shadowrun and Final Fantasy VI.

I had Under a Killing Moon but my parents bought it.
