Its not just banners like in Mirror's Edge.

The console version almost doesn't even look finished after seeing it on the PC with PhysX.
PC will always look better, but dont tell me effects like that are anything new, its just nvidia and their lame pr with physx trying convince everyone u need a nvidia card to enjoy the extra effects i could care less about.

I bet these effects were ommited by Nvidias request to help them sell graphics cards... None of the effects are so demanding that they couldn't have been done without physx.

It's the same thing that was around with Mirrors Edge, it brought nothing new but retards got all excited thinking it was the first time it was possible and only possible with that specific hardware.

at playable frame rate?

& i thought console $ > nvidia...hence the console release first.

As a primary PC gamer with a 360... its about time someone did someone to show off the power of the PC and push PC gaming. I hope they do it in more games. Or maybe they did it because the console didnt have the power to do the smoke the way they wanted it ...

As a PC gamer I'm glad they did it.

Yes at a playable framerate... there is nothing in batman that is so amazing that would destroy framerates if they implemented it without physx. I mean wall breaking and papers flying? thats already been done... smoke? been done... NOTHING IS SPECIAL ABOUT IT.

btw Bloodrayne 1 did cloth tearing... and that was 2002, you would think that by now they can improve and keep the performance without need of special hardware. Just shows how little it advanced but how much they fooled idiots to believing it has.

yes it has been done, but not in the same way. whit physx these materials react like in real world with actual physics involved.

Yeah of course its not the same exact way since phsics weren't as big back in the day but you would think that adding realworld physics to the current system wouldn't require hardware to preform such effects, you would think it would just be an evolution of the technology.

I dont want to argue but physx is the best implementation of real world physics yet released.Like it or lump,I dont care.I personally think its very cool and leave it on

I was sold on it in Mirror's Edge with the glass shards... there was an early cutscene where Faith fell through a window and landed on the ground next to some dude, and in the Physx version all these glass shards fell around you in slow motion and sprinkled on the ground and such... it was a really cool effect. The plastic tarps were neat too, for the most part.

Batman the effects are a bit less integral, but still cool, and better yet they didn't seem to impact my framerate much at all.

Thumbs up Re: Official Batman Arkham Asylum Thread

I finished this game on 360 and got all 240 riddles, It's seriously a GOTY contender ,I'd say in the Top 5 for 2009.

And after watching this I may have to buy it on PC as well: http://ve3d.ign.com/videos/play/5865...er/Flash-Video (HD version) I can only assume ATI owners wont be happy with this Nvidia exclusive stuff. Without it you're basically playing the console versions.. Which actually isnt a bad thing as I thought it looked stunning on 360.

I agree on this being GOTY so far. Problem is MW2 will get it purely because of its multiplayer functions.
