Post Sony PS3 Slim consumes over 50 percent less power

CNET had the opportunity to test the power consumption of Sony's upcoming PS3 Slim console, and the results are pretty impressive compared to the original PS3 60GB. Sony claims the PS3 Slim is 34 percent more efficient, but the results from CNET show savings of over 50 percent:
Standy: 1.22W => 0.36W
Idling: 171.35W => 75.19W
Blu-ray movie: 172.79W => 80.90W
Game / idling: 203.84W => 95.35W
Game / playing: 206.90W => 96.24W
YouTube: 181.28W => 85.08W

I stopped reading about this system when I realized they removed the ability to load Linux on the slim and no backwards capability for PS2 media. Big loss in my opinion! I am sure it's impressive on power consumption considering the lack of features you get over the obese model.

It's still a great little system for what it does.
