Default openGL program terminates

help me (linux newbie)...

i've installed the nvidia Driver: 1.0-4363
changed the XF86config-4 file

and it worked, tuxracer started and i played it.

but when i tried it a day later, i wanted to start tuxracer and it was loading ( I saw it in the taskbar ) but then it terminates.

what is wrong? why did it work one time but didn't work later on?

the NVIDIA logo displays when starting the Xserver
all links noted in the README are present

relevant sections in XF86config-4:

EndSection

Section "Device"

just noticed that glx workes after all

glxgears works from konsole as root and so does tuxracer, but when I try to run it as user it gives this error:

Error: Could not open /dev/nvidiactl because the permissions

when I chmod'ed this file the same error was given for nvidia0

after chmod'ing that file too, it worked

don't know if it is a wise thing to do it like this...

but knowing I didn't modify the permissions on these files before, how come they have changed?? or is there another way around to do this?

but other than that, it workes perfectly now, so thanks for the drivers...

just now found the part in the README for my problem
(line 447)

and it states I need to remove the line with "<dri>" from /etc/security/console.perms

instead I've changed the line
<xconsole> 0600 <dri> 0600 root
to
<xconsole> 0600 <dri> 0666 root

to keep the security system complete
